Change your account location
The first time you log in to the OfferUp app, we'll get your location to show items near you.
If you've moved or your original location wasn't quite right, change it in your account.
In the app
1. Open the OfferUp app
2. Tap Account, then Settings
3. Tap your current location to edit it
4. Tap Get my location (iOS) or Get current location (Android), or enter your ZIP code
5. Tap Save Location

1. Go to OfferUp.com
2. Click your name. If you don't see your name, click Login and enter your email and
password
3. Click Settings, then click on Location
4. Start typing a ZIP code or the name of your city, then choose a location from the drop-
down menu. Your location won't update if you don't click an option.
5. Click Save Changes

TruYou shows buyers and sellers that they can trust you more easily. When you apply, we'll
check your state-issued ID (like a driver's license), your cell phone number, and a selfie you
take from inside the app.
For security, we don't store your ID on our platform, and buyers and sellers won't see your
ID, phone number, or selfie.
Once you're verified, you'll get a special TruYou badge on your public profile.
How to apply TRU You Membership
1. In the OfferUp app, tap to view your account.
2. Tap Join TruYou.
3. If you haven't already confirmed your phone number, tap Verify Phone Number.
4. Enter your mobile phone number. We'll text you a code that you can submit back to us through
the app for confirmation. Landlines and virtual phone lines don't work for texting.
If you're asked for your Facebook profile instead, you may have an outdated version of the app.
Submitting the info will still work, but we recommend updating to the latest version.
5. Tap Verify Official ID, and take two photos of your US government-issued photo ID: front and
back.
6. Take a selfie! Line up your face in the screen, and blink your eyes to take the picture.
Usually it takes only a few minutes for TruYou verification, but it can take up to 48 hours.

Tips for messaging
Answer quickly
Respond to messages as soon as you can. Great buyers and sellers typically respond
within an hour, and sometimes within seconds.

Tell them if you change your mind
If you change your mind, a simple "Thanks, but I changed my mind" will let
everybody move on. You might get banned if you keep missing pickup with a seller

These is very important to note while chatting to check whether your account is blocked
If they don't answer, check the receipts
If the other person doesn't respond, check that they saw your message.
Two white check marks like the ones below mean they've seen that message.
One green checkmark means they haven't seen it yet.
One check for long means your account might be blocked you need to register q new account or verify phone number
When they don't respond, it's OK to continue searching for another item or buyer. To
avoid confusion, it's kind to let them know about your change of plan

How to buy
When you find something on OfferUp that you want to buy, here's how to contact the seller
and arrange your purchase.
Make an offer
1. Open the item you want to buy.
2. You'll see the item's price. This may be a firm cost or negotiable, depending on the item.
3. If you have any questions, tap Ask to message the seller.
4. Once you're ready, tap Make offer. This doesn't oblige you to buy.
5. If the seller is open to negotiating the price, you can enter your own amount if you want.
Edit the price on the next screen, or tap Edit when reviewing a shipping offer.
6. The item may be available for you to pick up by the picker or dropoff to the picker at the
picker discretion
7. To send your offer for an item to be picked up locally, tap Make offer.
 If the item is still available, the seller should reply to discuss or accept your offer.
